There was a mission in star wars Battlefront 2 where your mission was to stop a a rebellion at Kamino in which the Kaminos found out about the evil empire and refused to make clones for them any longer. During the mission, one of your objectives was to destroy all the cloning machines. And by doing so, stopping cloning forever.
I don't know if that mission had anything to do with the actual story but that would explain it more or less.
