you have a point. that area is a major food provider. and there would be major repercussions. but that area is a major food sink so there would at first be a large stockpile of food after a while (like you said) we would not be able to feed ourselves. i totally agree that it would be terrible. maybe i'm wrong maybe you're wrong maybe we are both wrong. who is to know? ill do some research if you would like...
i think you give capitalism a hard time. its in a capitalist best interest to pull as many people out of poverty as possible (they make more money that way). one way to pull people up is to feed them.
no i mean a lot of people in other areas would have food (mainly Africa and south america). also the time for things to get "back to normal" would be a while. that would also create jobs for those aforementioned areas.
p.s. things would be hard; but whats a little challenge?
